The Edge Ensemble Theatre Company is excited to be doing its part in keeping the Arts alive in these dark times by entering the new world of digital theatre! Out of an abundance of caution, The Edge has cancelled all live performances for the remainder of 2020. But a crisis is also an opportunity. And The Edge is seizing this opportunity to rethink how theatre can be presented in a time of lockdown and isolation. Three virtual productions are planned for the fall.
- The first production is Mark Twain’s The Diaries of Adam and Eve, which will air on September 20-October 10.
- The second production will air October 11-31, to coincide with Halloween, will be Spooky Tales of Edgar Allan Poe, including The Premature Burial (read by Damien Licata), The Murders in the Rue Morgue (adapted and directed by Catherine Behrens), Annabel Lee (read by Sherman Morrison), The Tell Tale Heart (read by Kim Dupuis), and The Bells (read by the company).
- The third production, to air November 1-30, is Here It Is, an original play written and acted by Cynthia and Jonathan Austin.
All three productions will be free on YouTube, and a $400 gift card to the Monadnock Food Co-Op will be raffled off on the closing night of each production. Raffle tickets are $5.00 and may be purchased by mailing a check to The Edge Ensemble, P.O. Box 1815, Keene, NH 03431. Include your name and contact information for the drawing. Tickets may also be bought online through PayPal for $5.42 (to include the servicing fee); go to The Edge’s website, www.edgeensemble.org/raffle. Money must be received a week before the drawing.
